The Jeffersons Couple Returns to Promote Denny's Triple PlayTM Breakfast
(EMAILWIRE.COM, September 19, 2001 ) Building on the success of its most recent creative efforts, Denny's welcomes the return of the actors Sherman Hemsley and Isabel Sanford, known for their portrayal of George and Weezy on the popular 70s and 80s television show The Jeffersons. The latest spot for the nation's largest family restaurant chain breaks on Sept. 24 and touts Denny's new promotion of the Triple PlayTM breakfast entree.
Created by WestWayne, Inc. of Tampa, Fla., the 30-second commercial features the actors enjoying a meal at Denny's. The pair was tapped earlier this year for two commercials promoting Denny's Original Grand Slam Breakfast®.
"Denny's customers of all ages connect with the warm, familiar style of Sherman and Isabel," said Roy Getz, senior vice president of marketing for Denny's. "They communicate in a memorable way Denny's value message of great food at a great price in a family-friendly place."
The Triple PlayTM Breakfast offers eggs, hashed browns or grits, and choice of bread along with a bacon, ham and sausage trio for a special price of $3.99. The promotion will run nationally for a limited time only at participating Denny's restaurants.
The television spot infuses a playful dose of humor into the creative campaign, reinforcing Denny's friendly, comfortable personality. It will run in 68 markets as well as on national cable, including A&E, ESPN, The Family Channel and Lifetime. The integrated campaign includes television and radio.
Denny's is the nation's largest full-service family restaurant chain with nearly 1,800 locations in the United States, Canada, Costa Rica, Guam, Mexico, New Zealand and Puerto Rico. Denny's is operated by Advantica Restaurant Group, Inc. (OTCBB: DINE), one of the largest restaurant companies in the United States.
