Longtime Gainesville Realtor Chooses Auction Method to Sell Home

Douglas Home to Sell At Absolute Public Auction

(EMAILWIRE.COM, August 22, 2006 ) Gainesville, FL -- Recently, one of the area’s longtime Realtors, Ted Douglas, along with his wife, Dianne, decided to move to Charlotte, NC, to be near their daughters and grandchildren who live there. Ready to sell and “get on” with the move, they decided to employ the auctioneering services of North Central Florida's leading Auctioneer, Ben Campen of Gainesville, to sell their home and some 8 and ½ acres to the highest bidders (regardless of price) at Absolute Public Auction. The Auction will take place this Saturday, August 26th 2006, at 9:00 AM, on-site at 12424 NW 77th Drive, Alachua, FL, halfway between Gainesville and Alachua on Hwy 441.

Ben Campen Auctioneers will be selling the Douglas’ beautiful 3,277 SF house and “park-like” 8 and ½ acres, offered in parcels and as a whole. The property has some 400 feet of direct frontage on U.S. Hwy 441, just north of the Polaris dealership. The 4 Bedroom / 2.5 Bath home was constructed by one of Alachua County’s premier builders, A.T. Douglas. Also being sold at the Auction, piece by piece to the highest bidders, will be Household Furnishings of all kinds, Tools, Shop Equipment, Antiques, a 1997 Cadillac and even old coins. A complete bidder’s packet and pictures of the Real Estate and personal property to be sold is available at www.CampenAuctions.com . Prospective bidders on the real estate will be required to present a Cashier’s Check in the amount of $25,000 upon registration in order to bid. Nothing is required of other bidders, just full payment at the auction.

There will be a preview of the property on Wednesday, August 23rd from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and other times by appointment with the auctioneer. There will also be a scheduled preview prior to the auction Saturday beginning at 7:30 AM. .

Ted Douglas has been a licensed Real Estate broker in Gainesville for over 30 years. He and his wife decided to sell their home using Ben Campen Auctioneers and the Auction method because it allows them to decide the day their house will sell and they trust the marketplace to decide the price.
