Strategic Partnership With ThePort Network, Inc. Will Help Healthcare Organizations Get Closer To Their Most Important Customers

(Nasdaq: ADAM) and ThePort Network, Inc. are set to launch next month.

The two Atlanta-based companies have joined their leading-edge expertise in health information applications and next-generation customer relationship management (CRM) to provide a unique system for delivering personalized information and services to an end user - outside of email and the web browser. Unlike current CRM applications and traditional web browsing, this new technology will allow healthcare organizations to establish a custom-branded, bi-directional information pipeline directly on a user's desktop.

The PortPlayer, as the end user component is called, is simple to install and occupies about 500K of memory. Once installed, the user can receive relevant information based on their unique health profile that they define. Users can further personalize their PortPlayers with opt-in programming that could consist of A.D.A.M.-produced content or even non-healthcare content like weather, news or stock quotes.

The solution provides healthcare organizations a unique way to connect the consumer-patient-member to the healthcare system. For example, in the health insurance and managed care industries, ThePort technology could enable the exchange of member/patient-specific wellness information, or facilitate scheduling or transactional information, leading to improved member loyalty and retention. In the provider arena, ThePort technology serves as a gateway to connect the facilities' services with patient interests - a vital part of their patient retention and acquisition strategy.
