Guess?, Inc. (NYSE:GES) jumped 0.15% to $46.68 on 2.93 million shares after the company posted on Wednesday an 81 percent jump in the quarterly profit, due to margin improvements and tighter inventories. The company also increased its quarterly dividend by 28 percent to 16 cents, but a lukewarm guidance has investors disinterested in after hour's trade.

CIT Group Inc. (NYSE:CIT) rose 4.35% to $37.87 after the company late Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $3.2 billion including fresh start accounting adjustments and reorganization items from the firm's recent bankruptcy. Excluding the items, CIT reported a fourth-quarter pre-tax loss of $1 billion. CIT said that it had common equity of $8.4 billion, or $41.99 a share, as of Dec. 31.
Hartford Financial Services (NYSE:HIG) soared 4.84% to $28.58 after the company said late Tuesday that they plan to repay $4.6 billion they got from the government's Troubled Asset Relief Program during the financial crisis. Hartford said it's selling new shares and borrowing money to help it redeem $3.4 billion in preferred shares.
