Motorola, Inc. (NYSE:MOT) zoomed 1.85% to $7.16 after Dow Jones reported that Motorola, Inc. is considering a sale of its mobile network infrastructure business or forming a joint venture with a rival, the Financial Times reported, without citing a source. One of the companies considered for a venture is China's Huawei Technologies Co. The paper said on its Web site that Motorola Co-Chief Executive will lead separate units for network infrastructure and radio equipment for emergency services, the paper said. The move to split the two units under Brown could the infrastructure business spun off or under a joint venture, the report said.

Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) soared 0.95% to $14.95. The stock has a 52-week range of $11.01-$16.58. So far in this year the stock went up over 15%.

Alcatel-Lucent (ADR) (NYSE:ALU) climbed 0.58% over its previous day’s price and now trades at $3.49. The stock has a 52-week range of $1.53-$4.95. So far in this year the stock went up over 5%.

JDS Uniphase Corporation (NASDAQ:JDSU) surged 0.36% to $11.36 after it today announced that it will highlight solutions from its optical communications and communications test and measurement portfolios at the Optical Fiber Communication Conference/National Fiber Optics Engineers Conference (OFC/NFOEC) in San Diego, California from March 23 - 25.
