Learn More about Financing your Project at the U.S.-Africa Infrastructure Conference

Posted by Press Release Distribution Staff

(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 29, 2010 ) Washington, DC - Africa’s financial systems have continually shown resilience and adaptability, even in the face of the global economic downturn. The Economist Intelligence Unit predicts that 15 of the 20 fastest growing economies in 2010 will be from the African continent.

This year’s U.S.- Africa Infrastructure Conference focuses on the role played by instruments of finance as an important “middle” for companies seeking to take advantage of opportunities in infrastructure in Africa. Eight African countries are headed for emerging market status: Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. These countries, which account for almost 50% of the region’s GDP outside of South Africa, have strong financial markets that are attracting institutional financial investors.

How do companies gain access to financing to compete and succeed in African infrastructure projects? The 4th U.S.-Africa Infrastructure Conference examines this question and many others and provides answers to the issue of financing for infrastructure. Participants will have the opportunity to meet in a one-on-one setting with representatives of key institutions involved in financing projects in Africa in the“deal room.”

The Facts:
