It also features a very active online community with over 85,000 members that is indispensable to students as they can get help with their homework assignments or concepts that are giving them trouble from other AP students and a team of volunteer moderators that serve as tutors specializing in certain subject areas.

The site was launched in December 2002 by Chris Keenan, originally covering only US History.
