Stafford County Public Schools selects Adesta to design, engineer and construct
Adesta continues on their mission to improve American education for one of the fastest growing counties in Virginia
(EMAILWIRE.COM, July 28, 2009 ) OMAHA, Neb. – Adesta, LLC, a systems integrator and project management company for communication networks and electronic security systems, has been awarded the first phase of a multi-phase contract to design, engineer and construct a fiber-optic, wide-area network that will connect six Stafford County schools and the Stafford County Public Schools (SCPS) administration building. Phase I construction began in April, and is expected to be completed in August of 2009. The system will be a redundant fiber-optic communications network.
“Education is an ongoing and imperative priority in our country”, said Bob Sommerfeld, President of Adesta. “We are pleased to be able to provide Stafford County with the updated infrastructure needed to continue their vision to be an educational leader inspiring excellence and life-long learning.”
Additional phases are expected to follow to connect the remaining 25 schools and administrative sites, pending funding. Once the full network is complete, all 35 schools and administrative facilities in Stafford County, Virginia will be connected. Once a reality, this network will provide enhanced educational services and access to the District. Students and administrators will be able to interact in a more effective, efficient and timely manner. Advanced features such as distance learning, video conferencing, and high speed Internet access will help Stafford County maintain their status as the second fastest-growing county in the state of Virginia.
“We are looking forward to the day when Stafford County Public Schools will enjoy the benefits associated with fiber optic connectivity to all of our schools and offices,” said Dave Sawyer, Superintendent, Stafford County Public Schools. “The plan we have developed with Adesta will assist us in taking maximum advantage of enhanced technology resources now and in the future.”
