The trip begins with a dinner and overnight in San Jose before transferring to the Talamanca Indigenous Reservation on the Caribbean side of the country. There is also the chance to visit the sites where guests may choose to volunteer on the fourth day. The third day is spent on a frog tour, visiting an indigenous farm to see six types of frogs, parrots, picotes, butterflies and medicinal plants. After the day of optional volunteering, there’s a tour on a dugout canoe to Panama, to swim and relax by a beautiful waterfall. There’s time to say goodbye to new friends before the trip back to San Jose for the night. This seven-day sojourn is only $799 for adults and $699 for children 12 and under.
