Morrison Gallery in Kent to Feature Works by Gary Komarin in One-Person Exhibition June 20-July 25
An exhibit of oil paintings titled I Can Sing a Song in Your Eyes by noted artist Gary Komarin will be featured June 20 - July 25 at The Morrison Gallery in the Old Barns section of this Litchfield County cultural center.
(EMAILWIRE.COM, June 03, 2009 ) KENT, CONNECTICUT - An exhibit of oil paintings titled I Can Sing a Song in Your Eyes by noted artist Gary Komarin will be featured June 20 - July 25 at The Morrison Gallery in the Old Barns section of this Litchfield County cultural center.
The exhibit begins Saturday, June 20th with a reception from 5-7 pm and an opportunity to meet the artist and view his recent work.
Works by the New York City-born Komarin have been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the world, including Galerie Proarta in Switzerland, Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, National Academy of Design, Rutgers University, MOFA in New Orleans and many others. His paintings are in corporate collections ranging from AT&T and Continental Airlines to McDonalds, Microsoft and Nordstrom Corporation.
The artist has taught and lectured at numerous institutions including SCAD, the University of Chicago, the University of Pennsylvania, Rice University, the Brandeis Group and Savannah College of Art and Design. He has received numerous awards such as the Joan Mitchell Prize in Painting, the Edward Albee Foundation Fellowship in Painting and the New York Foundation for the Arts/Grant in Painting.
