Lori Purdy Faitel was involved in a terrible automobile accident in1986 which resulted in a closed-head injury and left her in a coma for 7 days.

It’s a miracle that Lori was able to make a full recovery; not only can she walk and talk, but she also graduated college with an Associates Degree in Business and a two-year certificate in occupational therapy. “I have always known that some day I would put these thoughts together and create something informative and beneficial for others,” said Lori.

Lori’s book, “Am I Brain Damaged??” is her memoir of her return to life, her recovery, both mental and physical, as she grew up all over again. It took 2 years for her to reach an 8th grade level, which she was told was as far as she would go. Lori went on to graduate from college.

“At one point during my recovery, I remember telling or being told that I was alive because God wanted me to be. To this day I am sure I was kept alive to serve others and utilize what I have been through to help people,” said Lori.

Lori is ready to face the public and talk about her experience. This is an opportunity to meet a local author and get a personally signed copy of her book. Book signings will be held at Caribou Coffee; 2220 Union Lake Rd; Commerce Twp, MI, on Sunday, April 26 at 3:00pm.
