Wolves and Bears in Spring Expedition

Experience the predators of Greater Yellowstone National Park with Wildlife Expeditions of the Teton Science Schools.

(EMAILWIRE.COM, February 05, 2009 ) JACKSON, Wyo.–Travel with an expert biologist on Wildlife Expeditions of the Teton Science Schools two- and three-day adventures that explore the bounty of spring in Greater Yellowstone National Park. The land is thriving with wildlife—newborn bison calves frolicking among the herd, bear cubs emerging from dens, and wolf packs sauntering through fields in search of prey. This incomparable expedition is a rare opportunity to consistently see wildlife in a very short amount of time. Two day and three day expeditions for 2009 Spring Programs are: April 26-28, May 1-3, May 6-8, May 10-11, May 13-15, May 17-19, May 22-24, May 26-27, May 29-31, June 2-4. The cost: $650 for Two-Day Expeditions; $950 for Three-Day Expeditions. There is a maximum of eight participants per biologist/guide.

Wildlife is plentiful during this time of year as the wildlife comes out of hibernation. This popular tour focuses on Greater Yellowstone's predators. The Lamar and Hayden Valleys, where bears hunt, are the same areas where the wolves den, centralizing predator activity. Participants travel to the best sites for viewing bears and reintroduced wolves. In addition, the trip may include stops at Old Faithful, the colorful Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone - crowned by a waterfall more than twice as high as Niagara Falls - and the terraces of Mammoth Hot Springs.

Price includes the expertise of a biologist, hotel accommodations for three nights, meals, snacks and beverages, round-trip transportation from Jackson in a customized safari-style vehicle with roof hatches and sliding windows, use of optics and entrance fees.

Wildlife Expeditions is an educational outreach program of Teton Science Schools, a nonprofit organization that was established in 1967. Wildlife Expeditions provides year-round wildlife viewing and natural history interpretation to anyone interested in close-up, ethical viewing of Greater Yellowstone’s wild animals in their natural habitat.
