Anderson Township Thrift Store Announces ‘Dog Days of August’ Promotion
The Peppermint Pig Thrift & Gift Holding Event to Benefit Safe Haven Animal Sanctuary
(EMAILWIRE.COM, August 14, 2008 ) Anderson Township, OH — August 13, 2008 — In honor of those precious last days of summertime, the Peppermint Pig Thrift & Gift has today announced its ‘Dog Days of August’ event to benefit Safe Haven Animal Sanctuary, a no-kill animal shelter. Festivities will include daily specials throughout the week of August 19 through 23, and a very special adoption day event that Saturday.
‘Dog Days of August’ will feature by one get one free specials on select books and clothing. Saturday, the Peppermint Pig will host a special event from 1-4 pm with visits by adoptable dogs from Safe Haven Animal Sanctuary. Also included in the event are refreshments and a visit by the Peppermint Pig’s mascot, Peppy and his friend Jimmy the dog.
“We know back to school shopping can be a burden on the family budget this time of year, so we created the ‘Dog Days of August’ event to help parents alleviate the shopping stress, all while raising awareness of the many dogs and cats that Safe Haven has available for adoption,” Safe Haven Animal Sanctuary president Rory Uhler said. “Our mission is to find good homes for rescued animals, and as always, we’re excited to share this event with the Peppermint Pig Thrift & Gift.”
Uhler adds that alumni animals from the Safe Haven program are welcome to attend the Saturday event and enjoy the festivities, and clothing or furniture donations are accepted during store hours.
The ‘Dog Days of August’ event will be held August 19-23 at the Peppermint Pig on 8255 Beechmont Ave. in Anderson Township. The store will be open from Tuesday through Friday 11am to 6pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm. All Proceeds from the sales at the Peppermint Pig Thrift & Gift go towards animal care and the purchase of a brick and mortar facility for the Safe Haven Animal Sanctuary, whose current roster of adoptable pets reside in loving foster care.
