GetOffOfOil.org launches website, seeks support for U.S. Energy Independence campaign
GetOffOfOil.org launched its website Friday aimed at gathering support for a national "Get Off Of Oil" campaign.
(EMAILWIRE.COM, June 07, 2008 ) GetOffOfOil.org launched its website Friday aimed at gathering support for a national "Get Off Of Oil" campaign. The organization's primary stated objective is to actively persuade political candidates at all levels of government, representing any and all parties, to make energy independence a major part of their platform.
GetOffOfOil.org is a non-partisan group that believes the United States' continued dependence on oil creates a national security risk, hinders economic development, and contributes to an unhealthy, polluted atmosphere. The organization hopes to reach across all party lines to form a coalition of like-minded Americans who are fed up enough with high gas prices and a weak economy to "take the bull by the horns" and do something about it.
The group's first objective is to raise enough funds to hire a professional firm to help it structure its non-profit organization, as well as purchase web advertising to spread awareness of its cause. Donation options range from a "Gallon of Gas" at $4 to a "Barrel of Oil" for $128.
Parties interested in joining the GetOffOfOil mailing list or in making a donation may visit http://www.GetOffOfOil.org for more information.
