Social media site InfamousGuitar.com announces $5,000 fan referral contest
InfamousGuitar.com, a social media site dedicated to guitar players and guitar fans, announces its $5,000 “Greatest Fan in the History of the World” competition.
(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 15, 2008 ) Dallas, TX - InfamousGuitar.com, a social media site dedicated to guitar players and guitar fans, announced today its $5,000 “Greatest Fan in the History of the World” competition. Guitar fans and guitar players are invited to participate by referring competitors for its $5,000 Online Guitar Solo Competition.
"We’ve got a great guitar solo contest going for the guitar players at Infamous Guitar," says John Kirkwood, one of the co-founders of InfamousGuitar.com. "But as most musicians know, it’s all about the fans. Of the hundreds of members we now have at InfamousGuitar.com, the vast majority have come through word-of-mouth referrals from our fan base, and they should be rewarded for their efforts. We are growing virally, and we want to encourage that in any way we can. This fan competition is the least we can do for our members, as supportive as they have been of our site."
Anyone can register free of charge for the fan competition. Points will be awarded to fans for referring guitar players to the site, and each month, the fan with the most points wins $100, provided that they have referred at least ten players. After 10 months, the winners of the monthly fan competitions will be invited to compete in an all-out membership drive (right before the final month of the Guitar Solo contest), and the winner brings home $5,000 cash for their efforts.
"This site absolutely rocks," offers CountryGirl, one of the more active “groupies” at InfamousGuitar.com. “I have been telling everyone I know about IG, and it’s really cool of them to give me a chance to actually win money for something I would have done anyways.” CountryGirl, who recently discovered her own singing ambitions, can’t stop singing the praises of Infamous Guitar. “These two guys started this site about a month and a half ago…it was like one page…and now there are hundreds of guitar players, contests for everyone, musicians are getting together to write songs…and I actually wrote my very first song ever! I didn’t even know I could be a songwriter, I just always wanted to try, and the cool players at Infamous Guitar helped me. I actually recorded a song, with me singing…it’s so much fun!”
”The guitar solos for the contest are awesome,” says CheeryPi, another Infamous Groupie. “It’s just amazing to hear these guys from all over the world tearing it up on their guitars. I think there’s some guy from New Zealand on there, there’s some 15 year old kid who sounds awesome, there are guys in their 50s…it’s like they say, music bridges all gaps.”
InfamousGuitar.com has just begun its first monthly guitar competition in May 2008, and has already had over hundreds of thousands of pages viewed on its site. Sponsors such as GuitarPartsCentral.com are supporting the efforts of musicians from around the globe. Many guitar players and fans from the now-complete 2007 Guitar Center King of the Blues competition have migrated to InfamousGuitar.com, and its membership has grown into the hundreds, primarily through word-of-mouth viral marketing. InfamousGuitar.com expects over 3,000 members and millions of unique visitors during its 2008-2009 Online Guitar Solo Contest.
