Border Patrol arrests two murder suspects during transportation checks

"On April 29, Border Patrol agents arrested Mauricio Jose Bedolla-Camacho, a citizen of Mexico illegally present in the United States ..."

(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 03, 2008 ) Baton Rouge, LA – Border Patrol agents assigned to the Baton Rouge Border Patrol station apprehended two murder suspects in separate incidents over the last three days. The arrests were made while agents performed transportation checks at the Greyhound bus station in Baton Rouge.

On April 29, Border Patrol agents arrested Mauricio Jose Bedolla-Camacho, a citizen of Mexico illegally present in the United States, at the Greyhound terminal bus station. While Bedolla was in custody, Pennsylvania State Police officers notified Border Patrol agents that he was wanted in connection with the disappearance of his girlfriend. Arrangements were made for Bedolla to be interviewed by Pennsylvania State Police officials. During that interview, Bedolla confessed to murdering his girlfriend and gave authorities information that led to the discovery of the victim’s body. Bedolla is facing extradition to Pennsylvania to face murder charges.

Border Patrol agents encountered a Jamaican citizen at the Greyhound bus terminal yesterday in Baton Rouge, LA. When questioned by agents, the man provided information that was inconsistent with the identification he presented. The subject, identified as Sean Macray-Brown, was taken to the Border Patrol station for further investigation where it was revealed that he had an outstanding warrant for murder from the Ft. Lauderdale, Florida Sheriff’s Office. Macray was turned over to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office to await extradition to Florida.

The recent apprehension of murder suspects highlights the effectiveness of transportation check operations, and the importance of partnerships with other law enforcement agencies in the apprehension of illegal aliens and other violent criminals.
