COMMITS NexGen Contract Moves to GSA

"We welcome the opportunity to bring this small business GWAC to GSA. GSA's extensive experience administrating GWACs will assist in bringing the best value for taxpayer's money, as well as providing first class performance-based IT services and solution

(EMAILWIRE.COM, April 18, 2008 ) WASHINGTON – The General Services Administration announced today the transfer of the Commerce Information Technology Solutions (COMMITS) Next Generation (NG) from the Department of Commerce to GSA. COMMITS NG is a governmentwide acquisition contract (GWAC) vehicle that is set-aside for small businesses. The COMMITS NG GWAC focuses on providing information technology services to the federal government. COMMITS NG adds a small business set-aside GWAC to GSA’s portfolio of socio-economic GWACs, as well as adding a cost reimbursement contract to GSA’s GWAC program.

"We welcome the opportunity to bring this small business GWAC to GSA. GSA's extensive experience administrating GWACs will assist in bringing the best value for taxpayer's money, as well as providing first class performance-based IT services and solutions for the federal government's IT contracting goals", said GSA’s Jim Williams, Commissioner of the Federal Acquisition Service.

COMMITS NG will become an integral component of GSA’s robust portfolio of small business and socio-economic GWACs, joining the 8(a) Streamlined Technology Acquisition Resources for Services (STARS) and Veterans Technology Services (VETS) contracts. GSA’s extensive experience managing GWACs, particularly in the socio-economic realm, makes it a natural home for this popular and successful contract vehicle.
