(EMAILWIRE.COM, April 05, 2008 ) Fletcher N.C. - MAHLE has greatly expanded their modular Ford piston assembly kit program by providing two applications, modular 2/4 valve and modular 3 valve, each available in either an inverted dome or flat top configuration. All options, the flat top and inverted dome for the 2/4 valve and 3 valve, are available in three different bore sizes with varying compression ratios.

Forged from M124S aluminum alloy, this low expansion piston provides excellent strength characteristics while reducing piston to wall clearance.

All of MAHLE’s modular pistons feature precision ring grooves designed for 1.5, 1.5, 3.0 mm rings. The kits include low drag rings, round wire locks, and .866” high quality steel wrist pins.
MAHLE pistons are uniquely manufactured with a phosphate dry lubricant treatment to protect against troublesome ring micro welding and pin galling during the initial startup and break-in of the engine. A proprietary anti-friction Grafal® coating is applied to the piston’s skirt to reduce drag, scuffing and noise.
