Latino Cooking Videos On Internet
CalMagazine.com, the first all Latino Internet TV is working with the Perez Factor Production Company in producing cooking videos for internet viewers featuring some of the best Latino cooks.
(EMAILWIRE.COM, March 03, 2008 ) San Francisco, CA - In the vein of most new cooking shows on network television, CalMagazine.com has initiated it’s own cooking shows featuring some of the best Latino chefs in California. Initial response to the idea of giving its internet viewers Hispanic recipes, the first all Latino Internet TV is working with the Perez Factor Production Company in capturing different cooks in their own kitchen or restaurant.
“What we’ve been looking for are Hispanic cooks who have extensive experience cooking and are willing so share their recipes with our viewers,” says Luis Perez, CEO for CalMagazine.com. “So far, we have two pilot shows that we’ve shot and have gotten very good feedback on both. In fact some of our viewers have already tried the recipes and liked the results very much.”
Perez was referring to two webshows now playing on www.calmagazine.com, Channel 5. One features the owner of Ceja’s Vineyard, Ms. Amelia Ceja, and the second features former OTI singer Juan Alejandro, who still cooks for his brother’s Mexican restaurant.
“This is very exciting for me,” says Alejandro, whose video also features a brief musical piece from his band, Sapo Guapo (Cool Frog). “I have lot’s of experience cooking and I’ve traveled throughout Mexico learning the different cuisines and now I can share those with the thousands of viewers on CalMagazine.com. That’s really exciting.”
The Perez Factor Production Company was established after movie producer and director Moctezuma Esparza (Selena/Walkout) encourage the Perez brothers, who are all in college, to establish their own production company. Although still in its infancy, the Company has produced numerous infomercials for small businesses, local chambers of commerce, and sports groups.
“We are producing a piece on barbeque sauces and it’s been lots of fun,” says Ricardo Perez, the Company’s President. “We have our first pilot on now on www.calmagazine.com, Channel 2. But, these cooking shows are sure helping us out since my brothers and I are still in college. It leaves a little cash and we get to eat for free.”
In addition to cooking webshows, CalMagazine.com is offering other internet produced programming including, “The Latino Journal This Week,” “Latino Business Review,” “America’s Music Café,” and “Fact-or Review,” all running an average of 20 minutes.
