WiMAX and WiFi MIMO
MIMO technology offers an effective way to increase wireless data speed without increasing spectrum bandwidth. Using multiple device transmitters and receivers, distinct data streams are sent simultaneously using the same channel, and are simultaneously recovered from the resulting composite signals. The upshot is more data per second per channel.
WiFi MIMO increases WiFi channel efficiency, and WiMAX MIMO does the same for WiMAX. Korea has been a leader in deploying WiMAX (called “WiBro,” there), so it is no surprise that a Korea-based silicon-solutions company, like XRONet, would be an early adopter of LitePoint’s advanced MIMO product-assurance test-system solution.
