(EMAILWIRE.COM, February 29, 2008 ) SUNNYVALE, CA – February 29, 2008 – The first LitePoint IQnxn-plus test system to roll off its production line has been shipped to XRONet, a Korea-based Mobile Wimax solution provider. Like its IQnxn predecessor, the new system can be configured in up to a 4-by-4 configuration for advanced MIMO testing.

“MIMO using WiFi has been increasing in popularity since 802.11n,” explained LitePoint product manager, Onno Harms. “With IQnxn-plus users have a single platform that can be used for testing MIMO in a WiFi or WiMAX environment.”

WiMAX and WiFi MIMO
MIMO technology offers an effective way to increase wireless data speed without increasing spectrum bandwidth. Using multiple device transmitters and receivers, distinct data streams are sent simultaneously using the same channel, and are simultaneously recovered from the resulting composite signals. The upshot is more data per second per channel.

WiFi MIMO increases WiFi channel efficiency, and WiMAX MIMO does the same for WiMAX.
