CafePrevention.com Adds New 5 x 7 Postcard to Underage Drinking Prevention Resources

CafePrevention.com, a Missouri-based community action partnership, has recently added a new 5 x 7 postcard to their arsenal of underage drinking prevention resources.

Springfield, MO (EMAILWIRE.COM, January 14, 2008 ) -- CafePrevention.com announces the addition of a new 5 x 7 postcard to add to their arsenal of underage drinking prevention resources that uses a different approach to combating this growing problem.

Community Partnership has developed their business around creating and supplying parents, schools, neighborhoods, and communities around the globe with a wide variety of innovative materials for empowering the youth of today. Each product developed and sold by CafePrevention.com is aimed at discouraging and preventing underage drinking, substance abuse, gangs, and youth violence through proper education and eye-catching materials that engage people of all ages and walks of life in their marketing message.

Due to the impact that Community Partnership has had on strengthening and empowering the youth of today, CafePrevention.com has tailored its products and message to work exceptionally well for organizations whose initiatives are building healthy, resilient youth—specifically, youth who have “The 5 Promises” as defined by the America’s Promise Alliance. Additionally, those organizations that have a drug-free community support grant and/or are interested in preventing underage drinking and other drug abuse within their community have relied on and found tremendous value in the resources found at CafePrevention.com.

Data from the recently released “Monitoring the Future” study shows a decline in underage drinking. However, use by young people is still unacceptably high, and nearly 1 in 3 students in 8th grade have used alcohol. Research shows that the younger youth begin drinking, the greater risk they have for becoming dependent on alcohol in the future, and the greater the chance they will not stay in school. In fact, over 25% of our nation’s youth are not expected to graduate from high school! Not to mention all the other risks they face when using alcohol such as date rape, accidents, violence, and the list goes on.

In an effort to combat this growing problem, Community Partnership was looking to expand their already extensive prevention resources that include alcohol prevention posters, games, bookmarks, and postcards available in their product line. However, their most recent initiative has been creating a new 5 x 7 postcard. Using parent input for both content and format, Community Partnership has introduced their latest addition of a 5 x 7 postcard, suitable for mailing or for countertop displays. Through the impact that CafePrevention.com has had on engaging the community, parents and adults have shown a great response to the prevention materials available. Additionally, they have provided valuable feedback regarding a preference toward a postcard format as compared to a lengthy brochure. It was with this feedback that CafePrevention.com is proud to expand their 5 x 7 postcard line geared towards alcohol use and prevention in youth.

Community Partnership’s newly created 5 x 7 postcard is designed for parents of middle school youth and states, “What’s Your Middle Schooler Doing This Weekend?” Much of the prevention messages available at CafePrevention.com are directed to youth; however, data clearly indicates that parents play a key role in the prevention of underage drinking.

“Our drug and alcohol awareness products, as well as gang resistance and education projects, have had a significant impact on engaging the community, minimizing the negative issues that face our youth through effective prevention resources, and building resilient teens. Specifically, with the introduction of our new 5 x 7 postcard, we are excited to see how this will further enhance the efforts of those with drug-free community support grants or communities interested in preventing underage drinking,” states Melissa Haddow, Executive Director of CafePrevention.com.

Community Partnership is pleased to launch its newly designed 5 x 7 “What’s Your Middle Schooler Doing This Weekend?” postcard to its underage drinking prevention resources. The projected impact that this new resource will have on the community and building resilient teens is one that CafePrevention.com is welcoming.
